The survivors of the cataclysm banded together and drove the demon lords back behind the metaphysical barrier seperating the three planes of Xibalba, Earth plane and the Skyroad the path leading to the realm of the sky gods. Their duty is to ride out the span of time from the great cataclysm to the next Great Conjuction 21,000 years into the future.

Three times genocide threatened to wipe them out entirely, the Akhaenaton religious cleansing where only a small amount of their people survived. The purging conducted by the Spanish conquistadors of the Incan conquest. And the solstice massacre where their king lead all the adults into a battle that was supposed to ensure the safety of the world but turned out to be a false vision and ended up getting all the adults and most of the children killed. 

The focus of this first book is on their king Striking-Jaguar, or his shortened name Strike and police officer Leah who is caught up in a nasty Xibalan ritual intended to fully reawaken the dormant barrier between the planes in attempt to bring the cataclym date forward a few years. They quickly gather the other Nightkeepers that had been raised in secret and on stories of their people's heritage.

The action of this book comes fast and furious as they try and prevent the summoning of a demon demi-god that would accelerate the plans for the Banal-Kax's re-entry into the Earth plane for another attempt at an assault at the Skyroad and the home of gods. What caught my attention was the fact that this well known Mayan doomsday prophecy was such expertly crafted into such an amazing series of books.

The Nightkeepers predecessors were extremely poor people living off the land and sold a great bulk of their artifacts and treasures, due to the fact that Nightkeeper relics were very similar to Mayan ones they were taken for archaeological treasures and were paid vast sums of money for the collections. The money was put into the Nightkeeper Fund so they could train and prepare the warriors which would face down the Banal-Kax at the end time.

Though just now they are realizing that they need these artifacts to call on their summoning powers to aid them in their efforts of fighting the makol demons and their Xibalban mages. Destined mates Nate Blackhawk and Alexis Gray are sent off with the royal mandate to retrieve, steal, barter or buy these artifacts before the Xibalban mages can get their hands on them and summon more powerful demons then the makol to aid them.

This second book is even better then the first as the action shifts into focus very quickly into the book, with the static charge of the sexual tension flowing between them, they hate feeling like their emotions are being dictated by the power flowing through them and fight their intense feelings for each other.

Skykeepers - Book 3 of the Final Prophecy

Lucius the former scrawny geek who had spent a very dark year trapped inside of his head is now as magnificent as any other male Nightkeeper after having had taken in the entirety of the entity controlling the passage into the Nightkeeper's sacred library, though first thing though is how to access the library, then getting out alive... Then there is Jade, she is a the Nightkeeper's library girl, with seemingly useless talents that just do not work for her.

How they solve those issues and come up with a plan to rescue the captured sun god trapped in the bowels of the underworld comes through an explosive conflagration of passion and desire as the affair they had started up before Lucius disappeared from her life roars back into life, with the added helping of Nightkeeper magic. Yet another great book in the series.
